Hurtigruten, the Norwegian Northern Lights specialists, has announced that its charter programme for regional airports is ‘99% sold out’ between January and March 2013.

The line will be operating 25 departures from Tromso to Kirkenes which are all full—Hurtigruten is now hoping to have winter 2013/14 on sale to ensure agents are able to continue capitalising on the product demand.

Kathryn Beadle, managing director at Hurtigruten commented: “To be 99% sold is phenomenal in today’s market and hugely encouraging. As a result of this unprecedented demand we are working tirelessly to bring out our new winter charter programme within the next couple of weeks.”

“The recent publicity surrounding the Northern Lights has definitely moved the experience up the bucket list. It seems that the more people that get to experience this unique phenomenon the more interest there is from others to see it too.”

The new programme will feature even more charter flights and from more regional airports due to the success achieved this year. Beadle added: “We want to introduce new regional airports so that even more customers can have our products on their doorsteps.”
